Welcome to the Iowa Music Teachers Association! Iowa Music Teachers Association Active Membership offers a mentoring program for young teachers and those who are new to the Association. Members are also afforded the opportunity to register for the Iowa Music Teachers State Conference at the reduced members rate.

Thanks for joining us at the IMTA State Conference!

The June 2-4 2019 IMTA State Conference was a huge success at Graceland University, Lamoni. Congratulations to Chair Rachel McCoy, and her committee members: Sarah Robinson, Daniel Goodrich, Linda Benson, Jack Ergo, Lois Selby, Deb Ausborn and Joan Hopkins!  71 members attended and walked away truly inspired.   Don’t miss the conference next year as it will be held at UNI on June 7-9, 2020.


IMTA/MTNA & LOCAL DUES

IMTA/MTNA Dues deadline is July 1 for all renewing members.  A grace period is offered between the time statements are issued at the end of April until September 1.   *Student members must be paid by October 1, 2019.  All other members are in good standing provided they have paid before September 1.  New MTNA/IMTA members may pay at any time the first year and are offered a half price membership after January 1.

*Any student member wishing to enter their students in IMTA competitive or non-competitive events must pay full IMTA and MTNA membership, due July 1, no later than September 1. (Effective immediately as of April 6 Board meeting.)


Sharon Jensen, State Local Associations Chair is always accepting “From the Heart” submissions for our magazine.  Send to Sharon or imtamagazine@gmail.com. You may submit your name or ask to remain anonymous.
