MUSIC TEACHERS NATIONAL ASSOCIATION CONFERENCE
MTNA LEADERSHIP SUMMIT
IMTA President, Cyndie Caruth and President-elect Linda Benson attended the Summit for MTNA Leadership on September 7-9 at the Hilton Netherland Plaza Hotel in Cincinnati, Ohio. The Summit is sponsored by the national association for state affiliate presidents, MTNA Board of Directors and Division Directors-elect. It is designed to strengthen the MTNA connection among local, state and national levels, deal with crucial issues confronting the association, and determine MTNA’s role in the future of the music teaching profession.
Founded in 1876, MTNA is the oldest professional music teachers’ association in the United States. MTNA is a nonprofit organization of nearly 22,000 independent and collegiate music teachers committed to furthering the art of music through teaching, performance, composition and scholarly research.
Cyndie and Linda wish each of you, our valued IMTA members a great 2018-19 teaching year!
Many of you have contacted board members that you are receiving questionable emails from other IMTA officers. This can’t be stopped but you will only receive REAL content about REAL IMTA issues from officers. We will not ask for money or a quick call. Always check the address behind the name, it is most likely someone you don’t know. Do NOT respond to these. Instead, be proactive and report them!
